The purpose of the program is to provide supplemental foods and nutrition education to eligible persons. The program serves as an adjunct to quality healthcare through nutrition education and counseling, providing nutritious healthy foods, screening and referrals to other healthcare systems. The WIC program provides nutritious foods such as infant formula, milk, eggs, cheese, dried or canned beans, peanut butter, fresh, frozen or canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, and infant baby food, as well as whole enriched grains.
