Details: The WIC program provides nutrition education, vouchers for supplemental food and breastmilk substitute (infant formula) to pregnant women, infants and children up to age 5. We strongly support breastfeeding as the primary source of nutrition for infants age 0 - 1 year and have Breastfeeding Peer Counselors who provide support, encouragement and breastfeeding education to pregnant and postpartum women. WIC clients are screened for nutrition risk and must meet income guidelines to qualify for this federally funded program.
