Referrals are made to programs that may benefit the family and WIC checks are issued that day. The client then uses the WIC checks at their local grocery store to buy specific, WIC eligible foods. Each check is printed with exactly what foods, brands and amounts are allowed. The store accepts the WIC check as payment for the items and no substitutions or changes are allowed.
